Camden is going high-tech to fight a big problem in the blighted city, illegal dumping.
Mayor Dana Redd announced today that the city is using CCTV cameras to look for people leaving trash where they shouldn’t.
She says she hopes that knowing the CCTV cameras are there will deter others who are thinking of leaving trash in the city. Nine people have been charged so far.
Police are asking the public to help identify the people involved in five other incidents — including three in which animals were illegally abandoned in the city.
CCTV cameras have become more important as the city has endured deep layoffs in the police department. CCTV cameras have been used to help identify people involved in drug deals.

RC model airplanes have several moving surfaces that are controlled by the transmitter. The signal from the transmitter is translated into servo movements by the receiver. The servos turn and either push or pull on the pushrods. The pushrods make the control surface move and change the plane’s position in the air. The pushrods, control horns, servos, receiver and on-board battery pack all have to be installed prior to flying the plane. If you want to capture videos then you need to mount an
airplane camera on it.

Police officers were examining new clues Friday in the shooting of a man walking a dog in the Oakland Hills two nights before.
Investigators were going through CCTV video that they received of the night that man was shot on Elverton Drive.
A man was walking his dog along the 7000 block of Elverton Drive when he was approached by two men.
Police said the man then turned to run away when he was shot in the arm. Police said the two men hopped into a car after the shooting. The victim’s injuries weren’t serious.
KTVU obtained a photo of the vehicle police believed the men used, which appears to be a dark-colored Japanese car. Investigators pulled the picture from CCTV video that they received from neighborhood residents.
Many of the homes in the area have CCTV cameras; KTVU counted more than a half dozen. Police are asking residents to help in this investigation.
KTVU rode along Friday with an Oakland police officer who is patrolling an area where the shooting occurred. Police said there’s been a rash of burglaries in the area, although it’s still unclear if that was the intent of the latest crime.

CCTV videos from Lehigh Acres’ homeowner, Rick Martinez’ home show burglars breaking in for the second time in two years.
The CCTV video shows one of the suspected crooks walk up to the front door, look right at the camera, and break in.
A Playstation, computer, and other electronics were taken in five minutes.
Rick rushed home after getting a call from ADT that his alarm was going off. His first phone call was to deputies. His first stop was to check his cameras.
Rick got the cameras installed after the first burglary to his home in hopes of catching anyone who came back for more.
Ouida Francis with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Video Production Unit combs through surveillance video on a daily basis.
She says she’s seeing more homeowners like the Martinez’.
These days, surveillance systems are more available and much cheaper. Not to mention, they help land more burglars behind bars.

Wireless network camera can be installed almost anywhere, have amazing security features and are enhanced by security measures to prevent unauthorized access. They feature extra controls for pan tilt/zoom, night vision infra red image capture, motion detection image captures, and more. Add to their usefulness. Also, nearly all IP cameras can record and send e-mail alerts, images, motion detection alarms, and more.
Wireless IP cameras are able to function on a wireless network camera as well as on a wired network with a LAN cable. The first configuration is set up through a router; after which the IP camera is installed and finely tuned, letting it be used on the wireless network that is already in place
Most homes already have a wireless network camera set up, which in turn is connected to a Broadband connection through a telephone line or cable modem, and these are generally always switched on for universal coverage. This means that after a simple set-up, and by using a broadband service with an IP address, users will be able to log-in to their IP camera easily.
Network camera usually has the ability to automatically send emails when the motion detector is triggered. Also, users can decide on the size of the area to be monitored and match the camera’s viewing angle for the situation. Pan and tilt controls will extend the viewing angle as well. Users should also look into the way the camera deals with audio recording, and choose a model that includes sound recording. Recording sounds in surveillance is a relatively new advancement, and the same standards don’t exist as they do for video recording.

Bullet cameras got their name, because they look like the bullet of a shotgun barrel or riffle. Color bullet CCTV cameras are the standard CCTV cameras in the security industry. They are very small and lightweight. Most of color bullet CCTV cameras are about 5 inches long and 3 inches in diameter. They are so small enough to fit into the palm of your hand.
Color bullet CCTV cameras will display at least 420TVL resolution and have 1/4″ Sharp, Sony or Panasonic chip sets embedded into its shell. They work well in many residential and small business settings.
Color bullet CCTV cameras are very cheap and if you find them over a hundred dollars then you are paying too much. The quality you get depends on the chip set. A chip set is the integrated circuit board with an attached lens that takes in light. Typically color bullet cameras have a quarter-inch chip set and most are Sharp chip sets.

When Robert Marshall walked into the bathroom at Gary’s Victor Billiards a few weeks ago, he noticed something strange: a CCTV camera in the corner of the ceiling.
Alarmed, Marshall pulled out his cell phone and documented what he found. He reportedly went to the manager and asked him about the camera and was told it was there for CCTV measures and that there were signs posted alerting patrons cameras were in use.
Marshall then filed a report with the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Victorville station.
Investigators went to the pool hall on Friday and discovered there was indeed an video CCTV camera in the mens bathroom in plain sight but there wasnt one in the womens, said Sgt. Kurt Lackman with the Victorville station.
According to sheriffs officials, if the camera was pointing into one of the stalls or in an area where men could be seen using the facilities, that may be criminal. If its pointing at a common area, there may not be any criminal charges brought against the owner.
Calls placed to the business were not immediately returned.
Lackman said the owner of the establishment was cooperating fully with the investigation. He also said the owner stated the camera was placed in the bathroom for CCTV purposes. As this is still an ongoing investigation, Lackman couldnt elaborate on why the camera was needed in the bathroom.
Marshall felt as if his privacy was violated even if the cameras are in plain sight and the signs in the main hall advised people they were under surveillance.
